Either the worst refereeing display I have seen in years or a blatant cheat. Lions and EP player fights. The EP player gets a red card and the Lions player only a yellow. Late in the game Hannes Franklin of EPand a Lions players were involved in a scuffle. Don't know who started it, burt in the end Franklin was standing there and was slapped in the face about 3 times without doing anything and the referee still gives the Lions the penalty, which in the end gave the Lions the victory. But everything is now clear. The ref was Francois Groenewald from WP. Seeing that EP is at the top of the Southern log and WP is only in 4th place, they are so desperate to win something after 11 years of nothing that they now even use their refs to cheat teams above them out of more log points.

Durasmart : Jeez man , you are sick to work out all that , don't you have a sex life?

@CliffBradley. The plot actually thickens. The judicial officer in charge of the hearing on EP using a Pumas player without the proper release papers where the sentence was that EP should lose all their log points for the games that the player was involved in, was Koos Basson, a WP Rugby board member. That verdict gives no benefit to the Pumas, who laid the complaint in the first place. Their whole issue was about transfer fees not being paid and not about log points earned whle using the player. The only teams to benefit was WP, Sharks and Cheetahs, the other main contenders for a top two and therefore semi-final spot in the Southern section. The WP connection in these controversial decisions comes up just too often to be pure coincidence.
