Toulouse to keep Ferreira

Toulouse - South African prop Schalk Ferreira was rewarded for a series of outstanding performances by being offered a three-year extension to his contract by French rugby giants Toulouse on Tuesday.

The 29-year-old -- who will be tied to the club till the end of the 2016/17 season -- was originally signed only as medical cover while Georgian prop Vasil Kakovin recovered from a serious knee injury suffered back in August.

However, since making his debut for Toulouse on September 8 he has appeared in every one of the four-time European champions games, nine in the Top 14 and four in the European Cup.

Toulouse forwards coach William Servat was moved to say recently that Ferreira "had without doubt a great future ahead of him at Toulouse".
