Whiteley named in Lions squad for SR final

Cape Town - Warren Whiteley and Sylvian Mahuza will join the Emirates Lions on their flight to New Zealand on Sunday evening as a group of 25 embark on the union’s biggest challenge up to date.

The Lions will compete for the Vodacom Super Rugby trophy when they take on the Hurricanes in Wellington on Saturday 6 August at 09:35 SA time.

Whiteley missed the semi-final against the Highlanders this past Saturday due to a calf injury.

Flanker Jaco Kriel captained the side to an emphatic 42-30 victory over last year's champions.

The team departs on Sunday night 19:15 from OR Tambo International Airport.
