Western Province appoint new CEO

Cape Town - Paul Zacks has been appointed as the new CEO of Western Province Rugby, following the retirement of Rob Wagner.

According to the WP Rugby website, Zacks was appointed as the result of a lengthy process to identify the right candidate and will start in the position on May 1.

President of the Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) Thelo Wakefield said that he is confident that Zacks will make a positive impact in the ongoing efforts to take Western Province Rugby forward.

“Mr Zacks comes with a wealth of experience in the private sector, and we would like to welcome him to the Western Province family.

“I am confident that he will be able to build Western Province Rugby further as we seek to achieve our vision of becoming the top rugby union in the world,” he said.

Wakefield also thanked General Manager Marketing and Events Gavin Lewis for his service as interim CEO.

“Gavin Lewis has done a terrific job as interim CEO, and I would like to thank him for his unwavering service to the Western Province Rugby Football Union,” he said.
