WATCH | Barrett boots Carter out of record books with monster penalty

Cape Town - Hurricanes fullback Jordie Barrett made headlines with a 63-metre penalty kick early in his side's Super Rugby win over the Jaguares in Buenos Aires.

According to the tvnz.co.nz website, Barrett's effort is the best recorded by a Kiwi, beating the 60 metre penalty kicked by Dan Carter in 2006 against the Springboks at Loftus Versfeld.

What made Barrett's kick even more impressive was the fact that the ball was still had yards on it after it passed through the uprights.

The men from Wellington looked dead and buried trailing by 11 points heading into the last 10 minutes, but scored two late tries to win 26-23 at Jose Amalfitani Stadium.
