VIEW | Springbok star delivers pre-lockdown message

Springbok and Sharks centre Lukhanyo Am has issued a message ahead of the 21-day coronavirus lockdown in South Africa which begins at midnight on Thursday, 26 March.

Apart from a handful of exclusions, South Africans will be confirmed to their homes until Thursday, 16 April in an effort to stem the spread of the deadly Covid-19 virus.

Am, who skippered his Sharks side until this year's Super Rugby tournament was suspended after Round 7, took to social media to issue a public service announcement.

He called on his compatriots to "play our part to stop the spread of the coronavirus".

As of Thursday morning prior to the latest update, South Africa had 709 confirmed coronavirus cases, without a death, making Mzansi the country with the most cases without a single fatality in the world.
