Van Dyk set to depart Cheetahs

Cape Town - Cheetahs prop Maks van Dyk is reportedly close to signing a deal with French club Toulouse.

According to Netwerk24, the 24-year-old tighthead is likely to head abroad after this year’s Super Rugby competition.

The Cheetahs though will feel they have enough depth having recently signed contracts with eight front rankers.

Tighthead prop Tom Botha is on his way from the Kings, while Luan de Bruin, Gunther Janse van Vuuren and Johan ‘Aranos’ Coetzee all extended their contracts with the Bloemfontein franchise.

Loosehead props who recently extended their contracts include Ox Nche, Charles Marais, Danie Mienie and BG Uys.

Super Rugby is currently in recess due to the international window in June, with the Cheetahs' next match scheduled against the Western Force in Bloemfontein on July 2.
