Uruguayan back joins Jaguares

Cape Town - Uruguayan back Nicolás Freitas has joined the Jaguares ahead of the new Super Rugby season.

Freitas, who can play centre or wing, is the only non-Argentine player in the South American franchise's squad for the 2017 campaign.

Esteban Meneses, the Uruguay head coach, recommended the player and an agreement has now been reached for Freitas to link up with Raúl Perez and his squad.

Freitas is the latest recruit to join the side, who have added Benjamín Macome, Santiago Portillo, Joaquín Díaz Bonilla, Santiago Álvarez and Bautista Ezcurra.

The Jaguares finished their first season in Super Rugby last year in 13th place.
