Highlanders bad boy still waiting on hearing date

Cape Town - Highlanders flyer Tevita Nabura is still waiting to have a time set for his disciplinary hearing after he was sent off against the Waratahs.

The 25-year-old received a red card midway through the first half during the Highlanders' 41-12 defeat in Sydney last weekend, when he kicked Waratahs wing Cameron Clark in the face after gathering a high ball.

The Highlanders are set to play the Reds in Brisbane this weekend but Nabura returned to New Zealand earlier this week with his hearing initially scheduled for Tuesday night.

It has been delayed, however, and the Dunedin-based outfit's assistant coach Mark Hammett said it would still be "24 to 48 hours" before a time was set.

"I believe that's when we'll know," Hammett told the New Zealand Herald.

Nabura is facing a spell on the sidelines for his transgression. His place in the Highlanders' starting line-up for their clash with the Reds has been taken by Tevita Li.

Saturday's clash in Brisbane is scheduled for 11:45 (SA time).
