Cape Town - Springbok captain Adriaan Strauss will make Super Rugby history when he runs out for the Bulls against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein on Saturday.
Playing his 132nd match, Strauss is set to become the most capped South African hooker in the history of the competition.
The 30-year-old will surpass Bismarck du Plessis, who played all of his 131 Super Rugby matches for the Sharks.
Strauss will also move into third spot for all time appearances behind Victor Matfield (148) and Jannie du Plessis (145).
The Bulls have little chance of qualifying for the Super Rugby playoffs this year and the only way they can progress to the quarter-finals is if the Sunwolves upset the Sharks in Durban on Friday.
