Stormers send Barry back to Bloem

Cape Town - The Stormers have allowed utility back Craig Barry to return to Bloemfontein to play for the Cheetahs in the PRO14.

Barry, who can play wing and fullback, was loaned to the Cheetahs in November last year.

The Cheetahs’ 45-24 win over the Southern Kings in Bloemfontein last week was set to be his final game for the men from Bloemfontein.

He returned to the Stormers on Monday but according to Netwerk24, has again been loaned to the Cheetahs - this time until May.

Barry, who was a stalwart for Maties in the Varsity Cup before playing for Western Province in last year’s Currie Cup, was not expected to be a regular starter for the Stormers in Super Rugby.

Last Saturday's derby win was the Cheetahs’ eighth in the PRO14 from 13 matches and they currently sit third in Conference A.

Their next match is scheduled against Welsh side Cardiff Blues at Cardiff Arms Park on February 10
