Stormers fret over Willemse

Cape Town - Stormers flyhalf Damian Willemse is in doubt for Saturday’s Super Rugby encounter against the Crusaders in Christchurch.

Willemse sustained a quadriceps injury in his side’s 34-27 defeat to the Waratahs in Sydney and could miss the clash against the defending champions.

“Damian has sustained a haematoma on his quad. It was quite a heavy knock and we will know in the next 48 hours whether he will be able to play against the Crusaders,” assistant coach Paul Feeney told the supersport.com website.

“Let’s put it this way, if we were playing the game on Thursday he definitely would not be able to play, so we are really unsure at this stage,” added Feeney.

George Whitehead, who is on-loan from Griquas, replaced Willemse in Sydney at the weekend and the Stormers may be forced to start him against the Crusaders.
