Star Bok duo to stay at Stormers - report

Cape Town - Springbok duo Pieter-Steph du Toit and Steven Kitshoff have reportedly opted to stay with the Stormers after being linked with overseas clubs.

Afrikaans newspaper Rapport indicated on Sunday that their decision to stay in the Cape was influenced by WP Rugby's proactive choice to confirm the appointment of John Dobson as the Stormers coach for 2020.

Kitshoff was expected to sign a deal with the Sale Sharks in England, but WP Rugby reportedly got financial assistance from another party and SA Rugby to fund his new contract.

A few high-profile overseas clubs were also interested in signing Du Toit.

Meanwhile, it appears that the Stormers also managed to keep Bok tighthead Frans Malherbe in the Cape, while lock Eben Etzebeth looks set to leave for French giants Toulon after this year's Rugby World Cup.
