Sharks lose narrow battle in New Plymouth

Cape Town - The Chiefs have ground out victory over the Sharks in their Vodacom Super Rugby clash at Yarrow Stadium in New Plymouth on Friday.

As it happened: Chiefs v Sharks

The Chiefs won 24-22 after the teams were dead-locked at 15-all at half-time.

The Chiefs scored two tries through centre Seta Tamanivalu and No 8 Michael Leitch. Flyhalf Aaron Cruden was on target with a conversion and four penalties.

The Sharks replied with three tries by prop Kyle Cooper, flyhalf Garth April and replacement hooker Chiliboy Ralepelle. April was also successful with two conversions and a penalty.
