Schreuder on crutches after Sharks win

Cape Town - Sharks scrumhalf Louis Schreuder suffered a hamstring injury in their pre-season win over the Bulls in Polokwane at the weekend.

At this stage it’s uncertain for how long the Springbok No 9 with be sidelined, but he was seen leaving the Peter Mokaba Stadium in crutches after his side’s 31-14 win on Saturday.

“It looks like he’ll be out for a while,” Sharks coach Robert du Preez said. “You need No 9s with the experience of Louis. We hope he will be all right and come back soon.”

The Sharks will travel to Hong Kong this week for a clash against French club Racing 92 on Saturday (February 3).

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
