SA's Labuschagne leaves Sunwolves

Cape Town - South African flank Lappies Labuschagne has parted ways with Japan's Sunwolves with immediate effect.

It is a major blow to the Super Rugby minnows, with Labuschagne having stood tall as one of the franchise's best players in 2018.

The 29-year-old was only ever going to play for the Sunwolves until the end of April because of his contractual commitment to the Kubota Spears.

The Sunwolves have, however, bolstered their squad with four new additions in the form of loose forwards Rahboni Warren-Vosayaco, Nishikawa Masakatsu and Fetuani Lautaimi as well as scrumhalf Kaito Shigeno.

The Sunwolves, who have not won a match this season, host the Reds in Tokyo on Saturday morning.

Kick-off is at 05:15 (SA time).
