Samu Kerevi named Reds captain

Brisbane - Wallabies centre Samu Kerevi has been named captain of the Reds for the 2019 Super Rugby season.

He takes over the captaincy from backrower Scott Higginbotham who remains a member of the Reds squad and will retain a leadership role.

Kerevi has played for Queensland since 2014 and has 25 test caps for Australia.

In a statement, Kerevi said: "Queensland has a rich history of past captains and hopefully I do the players, the club, the state and my family proud."
