SA-born Force scrumhalf ruptures ACL

Cape Town - Scans have confirmed that SA-born Force scrumhalf Ryan Louwrens has ruptured his ACL and has been ruled out for the rest of the Vodacom Super Rugby season.

Louwrens, who was born in Johannesburg and moved with his family to Australia aged 16, sustained the injury in the Force's 24-15 defeat to the Blues at Eden Park on Saturday.

Having been one of the form players for the Perth-based outfit this season, some pundits have touted him for a potential Wallabies call-up.

Louwrens' injury has opened the door for utility back Ian Prior to return to his regular position at No 9 for his side's clash with the Kings in Perth on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 08:05 SA time.
