Read makes long-awaited Crusaders return

Cape Town - All Black captain Kieran Read will make his long-awaited return to the Crusaders side for Friday's clash against the Highlanders at 'Wyatt Crocket Stadium'.

Read, who has been out with a back injury all year, is joined by eight All Blacks who return from international duty.

The match will see veteran prop Wyatt Crockett start his 200th Super Rugby match with the franchise naming the stadium after him - just for the weekend - as a sign of respect.

Samuel Whitelock, meanwhile, will continue to captain the side while both Matt Todd and Ryan Crotty will serve as vice-captains.

Kick-off on Friday is at 09:35 (SA time).
