Puma leaves Jaguares to become a Tiger

London - Young Argentina prop Facundo Gigena joined English Premiership side Leicester Tigers on Friday.

The 23-year-old - who has one cap for the senior Pumas side having also played for the Under-20 and Under-23 teams at their respective world championships - previously played for the Buenos Aires-based Super Rugby franchise Jaguares.

"Facundo scrummages well and he is a young man with a lot of physical and technical growth to come," said Tigers head coach Matt O'Connor.

"We think he'll add a bit of depth to our options and we hope he can become a big part of this place going forward."

The Tigers are eighth in the Premiership and have won only one of their last eight games in all competitions.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
