Former Springbok and Bulls lock Victor Matfield is the only South African who has cracked the nod in a prestigious Kiwi rugby magazine's Ultimate Super Rugby XV.

NZ Rugby World magazine picked a team from players who took part in the competition between 1996 and 2019.
The publication had high praise for Matfield, writing: "Won three titles with the Bulls and probably won every lineout ball thrown at him.
"Was a prolific stealer of opposition ball too and a colossal presence in a colossal Bulls pack that was impossible to stop between 2007 and 2010. Gave the Bulls the touch of finesses and cerebral input they needed."
The remainder of the XV comprises nine New Zealanders, four Australians and one Fijian.
Rather surprisingly, there's no Dan Carter or Richie McCaw in the team.
