Cape Town - Cheetahs captain Francois Venter has suffered another injury and is in doubt for Saturday’s Super Rugby encounter against the Stormers at Newlands.
According to Netwerk24, Venter injured his hamstring in last Saturday’s 38-30 defeated to the Sharks in Bloemfontein.
He will be monitored with a decision regarding his availability for the Stormers clash to be made later in the week.
Venter had just returned to action against the Sharks, having missed the first four games on the season due to an ankle injury.
Meanwhile, wing Sergeal Petersen’s participation is also in doubt, with the winger also struggling with a sore hamstring.
He was picked for the Sharks game but pulled out on game day.
Petersen was set to return to action, having been sidelined since Week 1 when he injured his knee against the Lions.
Following their home defeat to the Sharks, the Cheetahs are under pressure to perform this weekend.
They have won two out of five games and trail the Stormers by eight points in Africa Conference 1, with the Capetonians having played one less game.
