Montoya set for Ackermann's Gloucester?

Cape Town - Argentina hooker Julian Montoya is reportedly set to agree a deal to join Gloucester in the Premiership in December.

Wallabies international James Hanson, who has 12 caps to his name, has been brought in from the Melbourne Rebels to add depth to the hooking department.

However, Hanson is only going to be with the Cherry and Whites for two months on a short-term contract which ends prior to the start of the Super Rugby season.

According to GloucestershireLive, coach Johan Ackermann is preparing a contingency plan in the form of Los Pumas back-up number two Montoya, who will have a two-month holiday after a long and arduous season before joining Gloucester as Hanson returns to Super Rugby.

Montoya has earned 36 caps for Los Pumas since making his debut in 2014.

However, he has started just four games for Argentina with Agustin Creevy considered the starting hooker and captain.
