Mixed injury news for Hurricanes

Cape Town - The Hurricanes could welcome back flyhalf Beauden Barrett for Friday's clash with the Chiefs, but they are concerned over scrumhalf TJ Perenara's fitness.

Kick-off is at 09:35 SA time.

Barrett was a late withdrawal with a foot injury ahead of the Hurricanes' 38-37 victory over the Sharks in Napier at the weekend and was replaced by Ihaia West, but he is expected to return to action in the Round 9 derby in Wellington.

Perenara sustained some medial ligament damage and Jamie Booth replaced him at half-time against the Sharks.

"Beaudy's all go today," Hurricanes backs coach Jason Holland told the Stuff website on Monday.

"You'll see him out there shortly. He'll be easing into the week but we expect him to be right.

"TJ has presented really well this morning, better than we thought he would be on Friday. But he's still really touch and go for the weekend."

Perenara "might've tweaked the MCL" according to Holland but a scan will be able to give more clarity on the injury later on Monday.
