Lucas, Timani issued warnings after Melbourne derby

Cape Town - Matt Lucas of the Brumbies and Lopeti Timani of the Rebels have issued with warnings following the Rebels 33-10 victory over the Brumbies in Melbourne on Friday.

Lucas has been issued with a warning for contravening Law 9.12 - A player must not strike with the hand during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

The incident occurred in the 62nd minute of the match played at AAMI Park.

Meanwhile, Timani has also been issued with a warning for contravening Law 9.13 - A player must not tackle an opponent dangerously/above the line of the shoulders during a Super Rugby match at the weekend.

The incident occurred in the 14th minute of the match between the Brumbies.

A warning may be issued by the SANZAAR Citing Commissioner for foul play incidents that are very close to, but in his opinion do not meet the red card threshold for citings.

Upon further review of the match footage the Citing Commissioner deemed these warnings appropriate.
