Cape Town - The Lions have named a group of 25 players from which their final 23-man squad for Saturday's Super Rugby quarter-final against the Crusaders will be selected.
Regular skipper Warren Whitley, who was expected to miss the entire playoff series with a shoulder injury, will undergo a fitness test on Thursday after which a final call will be made on his availability.
In addition, a couple of players that travelled to Argentina for last Saturday's match have picked up a stomach bug, but will hopefully be ready to take part in training from Tuesday onwards.
The Lions finished second in the overall standings and will welcome the seventh-placed finishers, the Crusaders, to Ellis Park.
Earlier in the season, the Crusaders beat the Lions - at Ellis Park - 43-37.
Kick-off on Saturday is at 16:30.
