Cape Town - The Lions have suffered a massive injury blow with the news that flyhalf Elton Jantjies has to undergo surgery on a fractured wrist.

Jantjies sustained the injury during his side’s 39-22 win over the Cheetahs in Johannesburg at the weekend.

The Springbok pivot will go under the knife on Tuesday and it is uncertain at this stage how long he will be sidelined.

Meanwhile, the Lions also confirmed that loose forward Jaco Kriel suffered concussion in the game against the Cheetahs.

They have a bye this weekend, with their next assignment at home against the Crusaders on Friday, April 1.
