Lions post clean bill of health after Sharks clash

Cape Town - It was good news for the Lions who not only won their opening Super Rugby match of the 2018 season against the Sharks, but also came away injury free.

The Lions outlined their title credentials with a dominant display at scrum time, helping them in no small measure to their 26-19 success and outscoring their coastal counterparts by four tries to three.

The union reported no more than a few bumps and bruises for their players after Monday's practice session, with no one sitting out.

Johannes Jonker (calf) and Christiaan Meyer (sternum) are also expected to return to training from longer term injuries.

In this weekend's Round 2 action, the Lions welcome the Jaguares to Ellis Park on Saturday, February 24 at 15:05.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
