Kolisi plays like a Kiwi, says All Black Cane

Cape Town - Chiefs and All Blacks flank Sam Cane has hailed the form of Stormers counterpart Siya Kolisi ahead of their Super Rugby quarter-final meeting, saying he "plays a lot like a Kiwi".

The pair clash at Newlands on Saturday, with the Stormers having won 34-26 at the same ground earlier this year.

Looking ahead to the match, Cane admits to being impressed with Kolisi this season and knows his side must limit his impact.

"He is a South African loose forward that plays a lot more like a Kiwi‚" Cane told TimesLIVE website. "He's got good footwork‚ a great skill-set‚ and is very physical too.

"I’m not sure if he has bulked up in the past few years. I first swapped a Test jersey with him four years ago. We always make an effort to chat after the game. We’ve got a good relationship."

Judging from recent Stormers performances it promises to be a frantic game at Newlands this weekend as both sides like to play at a pace, which should create another thriller between the sides.

However, despite winning their last three matches, the Stormers go into the clash with a poor record in playoff games.

In eight Super Rugby playoff matches, the Capetonians have been on the winning side only once.

They were also hammered 60-21 by the Chiefs in last year’s quarter-finals at Newlands.

Saturday's clash is scheduled for 17:00.
