Hodgson vows to fight Force ruling

Cape Town - Western Force legend Matt Hodgson says the ARU's decision to axe his beloved club is something he will fight for 'as long as possible'.

Hodgson was in tears at the press conference confirming the NSW Supreme Court's decision to dismiss the appeal against the decision.

The 36-year-old even went as far as to extend an invitation to ARU chief executive Bill Pulver and director John Eales for dinner at his house on Friday night to get some clarity on the matter.

“Apparently there is a Test match on this weekend ... if they (Pulver and Eales) want to come over to talk I’m free Friday night because there are 30 players, 50 staff and fans all wanting answers,” Hodgson told Fox Sports.

“I’ll fight this as long as possible.”

Meanwhile, Hodgson is expecting the nib Stadium in Perth to be half-empty for the Rugby Championship match between Australia and South Africa on Saturday.

“There are fans angry at the process, the (lack of) transparency, the frustration and I wouldn’t be surprised if some didn’t show up,” said Hodgson, a proud Wallaby back-rower in 11 Tests.

“They’ll be wearing blue ... and probably black for a day of mourning.”
