Cape Town - Stormers scrumhalf Nic Groom will earn his 50th Super Rugby cap if he is selected to play against the Reds this weekend.
Now 26, Groom has spent his entire professional career at Western Province and the Stormers since getting his break in 2011.
He has featured in six of the seven matches the Stormers have played this season, missing one through injury.
With Jano Vermaak still out injured, Groom is almost certain to feature on Saturday.
"When I started playing rugby when I left school, to think that I'd be sitting here before a possible 50th run-on ... you'd have to be kind of crazy to think that," Groom said.
"It's been a great journey so far. I seriously need to just thank all of the people involved ... from coaches to players to mentors.
"I remember when I ran out for my first game one of my biggest focuses as a rugby player was not to be a one-hit wonder, but to be someone that consistently is always pushing for his place.
"I'm happy to be here, but that's pretty much all it is ... we've got a job to do."
The Stormers are coming off a 29-22 loss to the Lions at Ellis Park and will be looking to get back to winning ways against the struggling Reds.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
