Johannesburg - The Lions have a much-needed boost ahead of their clash against the Hurricanes with the return of wing Aphiwe Dyantyi.
The 23-year-old has been in superb try-scoring form for the 2016 and 2017 Super Rugby runners-up, but he has been sidelined with a pectoral injury since facing the Jaguares on March 23.
Dyantyi will now join up with the rest of the Lions squad in Wellington and he is expected to feature against the Hurricanes on Saturday.
There is still no clarity, meanwhile, on the fitness of Lions skipper warren Whiteley, who continues to battle a knee injury.
Dyantyi's addition to the Lions squad abroad effectively means that there is no space left for Whiteley in the touring party, and he will now be eyeing a clash against the Brumbies in Johannesburg on May 19 for a possible return.
Kick-off on Saturday is at 09:35 (SA time).
