Deysel escapes serious injury

Durban - Sharks flank Jean Deysel's injury following Saturday's Super Rugby clash against the Jaguares is not as bad as initially feared.

Deysel was stretchered from the field in the 32nd minute after he landed awkwardly on his head following a collision with Jaguares captain Agustin Creevy.

Deysel was attended to for what seemed like an age, and when he was carried from the field there were serious concerns that he had sustained a serious neck injury.

But the word coming out of the Sharks camp on Monday morning was that Deysel has been attended to and it looked like he would be okay.

The Sharks were only due to arrive back in Durban late on Monday morning and further assessments would be done on Deysel throughout the course of the week.

His availability for this weekend's clash against the Kings is yet to be determined.

Creevy, meanwhile, has received a one-match ban for his part in the incident.
