Daniel eyes return after arm op
Durban - Keegan Daniel's recovery from an arm injury is going well and he is expecting to be back on the field training within a "couple of weeks".
Daniel (32) had to have an operation after he sustained a fractured radius in his forearm following a pre-season friendly against the Cheetahs, leaving the Sharks without one of their most experienced players heading into the new Super Rugby season.
But he took to Instagram on Tuesday to provide an update on his recovery, and indications are that he could return to action sooner than expected.
"Things are really going well. It's now the fifth week post-op. I took the first week off just to recover from the op and fortunately enough because it's just my arm I can still do quite a bit of work in the gym and on the bike," Daniel said.
"So every day I come in here and spend a good hour to an hour-and-a-half getting good sweats on and a good workout.
"Hopefully just a couple more weeks to go and I can get back out on the field and join the boys, but for now I'm here and recovering well."
The Sharks have just returned from Australia where they lost to the Reds on the opening week of the tournament before bouncing back against the Brumbies this past Saturday.
They are back in Durban this weekend, where they host the Waratahs on Saturday.
