Crusaders lose Mo'unga for up to eight weeks

Cape Town - Crusaders flyhalf Richie Mo'unga is set to be sidelined for up to eight weeks after undergoing surgery on his hand.

Mo'unga started for the side in Saturday's 17-13 win over the Brumbies in Christchurch and was a breakout star last season.

"Richie has had surgery today for a fractured bone in his left hand, received during last night's game," read a statement on the Crusaders' Facebook page.

"He's recovering well and expected to require about 6-8 weeks before returning to play.

"We're wishing you a speedy recovering Richie and can't wait for you to be back on the field soon. #crusadeon"

Mitchell Hunt and Marty McKenzie are the two candidates to replace Mo'unga for next weekend's trip to Dunedin to take on the Highlanders.
