Crusaders coach hits out at All Black over yellow card
Christchurch - Crusaders coach Scott Robertson hit out at the Highlanders' Liam Squire following his yellow card in Friday's Super Rugby quarter-final in Christchurch.
The champions advanced to the semi-finals courtesy of a 38-14 victory over the Highlanders but the match was marred by a no-arms tackle from Squire on Whetu Douglas for which the All Blacks back-row was sent to the sin bin.
Squire's offence had a big impact on the game as the Crusaders went on to score two tries while he was off the field.
And Robertson had strong words when asked about the incident after the match.
"It was a big moment," he told TVNZ.
"It's a shame - it's something in his game he needs to sort out. I'd hate to see someone get injured because of a shoulder charge like that.
"(Squire was) a bit late, I'm just glad everyone's healthy."
Squire's yellow card offence was not the first of its kind as he was also guilty of an identical foul on Richie Mo'unga in the same fixture two years ago.
