Cruden blow hits Chiefs

New Plymouth - The Chiefs have suffered a blow ahead of taking on the Reds in New Plymouth after co-captain Aaron Cruden was ruled out due to illness.

Flyhalf Cruden didn't travel with the team to New Plymouth after he fell ill after training on Thursday, with the fixture scheduled for Saturday.

According to Stuff it is believed that Stephen Donald is likely to wear 10 in his place with Damian McKenzie staying in the fullback shirt.

The Chiefs are currently second in the New Zealand conference, five points behind the pace-setting Crusaders ahead of Round 11's action.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
