Controversial Folau set for fatherhood

Former Wallaby and Waratahs star fullback Israel Folau is understood to be expecting his first child with wife Maria.

Maria Folau, a past standout for New Zealand's Silver Ferns netball side, is due to give birth later this year, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Israel Folau is currently playing rugby league in France with the Catalans Dragons after he was sacked in late 2019 by Rugby Australia over comments on social media that, including warning that hell awaits homosexuals.

Israel Folau reached an out-of-court settlement with Rugby Australia after lodging a $14 million compensation claim for wrongful termination.

Israel Folau played 62 Tests for Australia and last season became Super Rugby's all-time leading try-scorer.
