Coltman extends Highlanders stay

Cape Town - All Blacks hooker Liam Coltman has recommitted to New Zealand Rugby and the Highlanders through until the end of the 2019 season.

Coltman joins All Blacks fullback Ben Smith in extending his stay with the Highlanders who confirmed the 27-year-old's new deal via social media on Tuesday.

"I absolutely love Dunedin, love the place, can't get enough of it," Coltman said in a video posted by the Highlanders.

"So I'm sticking around for another two and I can't wait to play for the rest of the year."

Coltman made his debut for the Dunedin-based franchise in 2013 and has already made more than 50 appearances for the 2015 Super Rugby champions.

He made his Test debut as a replacement in the All Blacks' win over Italy in Rome during last year's end-of-year tour.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
