Allister Coetzee lures Stormers fullback to Japan

Cape Town - Stormers fullback SP Marais has reportedly been lured by Allister Coetzee to play for the Canon Eagles in Japan.

Afrikaans newspaper Rapport stated on Sunday that Coetzee managed to convince Marais to sign for his club in Japan.

The 30-year-old Marais, who can also play on the wing, has been on the Stormers’ books since 2017.

Before that he also played for the Southern Kings, Bulls and Sharks.

Coetzee, who coached the Springboks in the 2016 and 2017 seasons, has been the head coach of the Canon Eagles since 2018.
