Brisbane - Former All Blacks star Brad Thorn has signed a contract extension that will see him remain as coach of Super Rugby side, the Reds, until the end of 2020.
The 44-year-old, who is currently in his second year as coach, said the club was "headed in a good direction and I want to continue being a part of that".
"We've got a good group of humble and hard-working men," added Thorn, one of only four players to win titles in Super Rugby (Crusaders) and the National Rugby League (Brisbane Broncos).
"We're all here to support one another and put in for each other."
Queensland Rugby Union chief David Hanham said Thorn was the right man to steer the young side, which this season has won three games and lost four.
"Brad and his coaching team emphasise the importance of leadership, hard work and humility to the squad each day," he said.
The Reds play the Bulls in Pretoria on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 17:15.
