Clean bill of health for Lions as Stormers clash looms

Johannesburg - The Lions have reported no new injuries following their 42-24 Super Rugby win over the Brumbies at Ellis Park this past weekend.

There was also no update regarding the fitness of captain Warren Whiteley who has been out of action for most of the Super Rugby season since injuring his knee back in March.

Whiteley had recently returned to training, with coach Swys de Bruin saying a return for the player was “around the corner”.

The Lions take on the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday, with De Bruin to name his team on Thursday.

Kick-off for Saturday’s clash at Newlands is scheduled for 17:15.
