Johannesburg - The Toyota Cheetahs found a bit of good news in their bye week after they announced they had renewed the contracts of all four their loosehead props for the next few years.

According to SuperSport, the Cheetahs confirmed that Ox Nche, Danie Mienie, Charles Marais and BG Uys have all extended their contracts at the Vodacom Super Rugby franchise, and will battle it out for the No 1 jersey next season as well.

Nche is highly rated and weighs in at 105kg, standing 1.75m tall, having played in 8 Super Rugby games for the Cheetahs this season. Nche is also a former SA under-20 player.

Marais, who hails from Paarl Boys High and came through the Shimlas system under coach Franco Smith in the team that won the Varsity Cup. He has 10 caps for the Cheetahs since joining the Super Rugby squad.

Former Sharks player Mienie had one cap at the Sharks in the 2013 season and six Currie Cup games for the coastal team before heading to Griquas where he initially linked up with the Cheetahs for his 18 caps so far.

Finally Uys came through the system at NWU Pukke in the Varsity Cup and played in the SA Students’ team as well, making his Currie Cup debut for the Leopards in 2010 for the first of his 66 appearances for them. He joined the Cheetahs in 2015 and has been a regular for the past two seasons.

The Cheetahs have a bye weekend this weekend but will resume their Vodacom Super Rugby campaign against the DHL Stormers next weekend.
