Pretoria - The Bulls have responded to reports suggesting coach John Mitchell has been linked to a role within the England national team.
OPINION: Why the unhealthy obsession with Mitchell?
Mitchell, who has been in charge at Loftus Versfeld for just one full Super Rugby season, has been making headlines recently and late last month he reportedly made a request to the Bulls for a transfer kitty of R90 million ahead of the 2019 season.
The Bulls have also come out to publicly and backed Mitchell after a largely disappointing Super Rugby season, but on Thursday Netwerk24 ran a story suggesting the former Lions and All Blacks mentor was being lined up as a defence coach to Eddie Jones' England ahead of next year's Rugby World Cup.
England are on the hunt for a new defence guru after Paul Gustard left for Harlequins following the June Test series against the Springboks.
The latest story forced the Bulls to come out publicly once more, this time on Twitter, to comment on the future of their head coach.
According to the tweet, there has been interest in Mitchell, although the union has received no formal offers.
The tweet went on to confirm that Mitchell's contract expires on October 31, 2019.
