Bulls fret over Odendaal, Gelant

Pretoria - Bulls captain Burger Odendaal and fullback Warrick Gelant are injury concerns ahead of Saturday’s Super Rugby derby against the Lions at Loftus Versfeld.

Midfielder Odendaal is nursing a bruised rib while, Gelant - who was a late withdrawal before the Hurricanes game - has a knee niggle.

A decision on both players' availability will be made later in the week, the Pretoria franchise announced.

Meanwhile, utility forward Jannes Kirsten and scrumhalf Rudy Paige are busy with their respective rehabilitation programmes and should be cleared next week, while wing Jamba Ulengo, centre Franco Naude and loose forward Ruan Steenkamp remain on the long-term injury list.

On a positive note, locks Aston Fortuin and Jason Jenkins and loose forward Tim Agaba have recovered from their respective injuries and will be available for selection this week.
