Cape Town - As they prepare to host the Sharks, Bulls captain Adriaan Strauss says they want to make Loftus Versfeld a home fortress again.
The three-time Super Rugby champions were near invincible at home a few seasons back - something Strauss has taken note of as they prepare to face a team fresh off a victory over the Stormers at Newlands.
“Loftus is a very special place for the Bulls, but you don’t inherit respect, you have to earn it,” Strauss told Netwerk24.
“Our predecessors from a few seasons ago commanded respect from visiting teams and it’s something we want to establish again.”
After watching their win at Newlands, Strauss expects another fierce onslaught from the Sharks on Friday.
“The Sharks were very physical against the Stormers and their play at the set pieces is impressive. Their driving maul is also very good and we realise how big a challenge we are facing.”
Friday’s clash is scheduled for 19:10 (SA time).
