Bulls coach wants to see more of 'very fit' Steyn

Cape Town - Bulls coach Pote Human has explained his decision to pick Morne Steyn ahead of Manie Libbok at flyhalf for their SuperHero Sunday clash against the Lions at FNB Stadium this weekend (15:15 kick-off).

The 35-year-old Steyn is back in Pretoria after seven seasons at French club Stade Francais and there was big talk in recent weeks whether he or Libbok would be the first-choice No 10 this season.

"Everyone knows what Manie can do, but I'd like to see more of Morne. He looks very fit and sharp and had a good 30 minutes against Tuks," Human told Netwerk24 after naming his team on Wednesday.

Human added that he'd also like to give Libbok a run at fullback.

A surprising selection in the backline was that of former Springbok wing Cornal Hendricks at outside centre.

Human believes Hendricks could prove a threat in midfield.

"I'd like to give him a chance there to see if it works out. Cornal is big, fast and physical and also someone that wants to be involved and run with the ball," the coach said.

Meanwhile, a Blue Bulls XV will also play a match against a Lions outfit at the Loftus B-field on Friday (14:00 kick-off).
