Bulls attack guru confident tries will come

Cape Town - Bulls attack coach Chris Rossouw is confident that his team will break their try-scoring duck when they host the Blues in a Super Rugby clash in Pretoria on Saturday.

The Bulls had a bye last weekend but failed to register a single try in their opening two games - a 23-15 defeat to the Sharks in Durban and a 13-0 whitewash against the Stormers in Cape Town.

However, Rossouw told Netwerk24 there was no need for concern.

"There is a lot of frustration because we are in fact a team that strives for an attacking approach," the former Maties coach said.

"Tries are the end-product of quite a few things and we must increase our off the ball work ethic, build more phases, reduce aimless kicking and be more clinical."

Rossouw, who played flyhalf for Western Province during his playing days, added that it would have been a concern had they failed to create chances in their opening two games.

"Our pack performed well against the odds in the Stormers game and we created lots of chances. It's something we can turn around. I have no doubt that we have the team to be competitive and play exciting rugby," he said.

Meanwhile, Bulls coach Pote Human named a largely unchanged team with Wian Vosloo the only new face in the starting line-up. He takes over the No 7 jumper from Abongile Nonkontwana.

The bench sees two changes with Corniel Els and Ruan Steenkamp making their first appearances this season. Els replaces the injured Johan Grobbelaar while Steenkamp takes Vosloo's place on the bench.

Saturday's clash at Loftus Versfeld kicks off at 17:15.
