Brumbies wing Peni suspended again

Canberra - Brumbies flyer Chance Peni's Super Rugby season is over after he received a six-week suspension for a dangerous tackle during a club match in Canberra.

This is the fourth time the 24-year-old is banned in 13 months and comes in his first match back from a five-match suspension for a similar offence.

The former Rugby League player, who joined the Brumbies at the start of the season from the Western Force, was sent off for a tip tackle while playing for Wests in the John I Dent Cup - Canberra's club rugby competition - last weekend.

Peni is eligible to return to action on August 11 - one week after the Super Rugby final but with the Brumbies in third place in the Australian Conference and unlikely to make the playoffs, his season appears to be over and he will miss their remaining matches against the Hurricanes, Chiefs and Waratahs.
