Cape Town - After a month of departures from the union, there was some good news at last for the Lions with Springboks Elton Jantjies and Lionel Mapoe extending their contracts.
The union confirmed on Monday that the pair, who are both currently training with the Springboks ahead of the Rugby Championship, had signed one-year contract extensions.
The Lions recently lost a number of players overseas including flank Jaco Kriel, lock Franco Mostert, centre Rohan Janse van Rensburg and props Ruan Dreyer and Jacques van Rooyen.
